On Jan. 27th, 2018, professor Huang Renwei, executive vice dean of Fudan Institute of the Belt and Road & Global Governance, delivered a speech with the title ofWhere Do Relations of Great Powers Go: " Traps" "or" "Steps”?He considered that theNational security strategy of the United States of America 2017conveys the message that China is viewed as a major threat to the American interests as if China and the United States were inevitably falling into the so-called "Thucydides Trap". According to Professor Huang, such a mindset of zero-sum game would be nothing but harmful to the prosperity of both countries. It is exactly because of the long-term strategic relationship between China and the United States that the idea of a "Community of shared future for mankind" would be more capable of guiding the orientation of Sino-US Relations.
