On July 1, 2021, China commemorated the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Communist Party of China(CPC). Founded on July 1, 1921, at a time when the country was plagued by war and poverty, the CPC has changed the course of the nation by restoring China's supremacy after a century of domination, humiliation as well as exploitation by foreign powers.

China's 100 years commemoration of the emergence of the CPC, thus, celebrates not only the nation's rise from a country subjugated by Western imperialism but also its rise as a global power.

It is a happy coincidence that the 50 years of independence of Bangladesh, the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the 100 years celebration of founding the CPC have come together. On this historic occasion, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conveyed greetings and expressed warm support to the country for future prosperity and modernity. "On the auspicious occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of China-CPC, I, as the President of Bangladesh Awami League and on behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, would like to convey you and through you, to the government, members of the CPC and the friendly people of China, our heartiest felicitations and warmest greetings," Bangladeshi prime minister said.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was an old and good friend of the Chinese people as illustrated in his recent memoir "Amar Dekha Noya Chin". The memoir vividly depict that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited China twice in 1952 and 1957 in order to foster great friendships with Chairman Mao Zedong, then-premier Zhou Enlai, and other Chinese leaders of the elder generation. The founder of the Bangladesh's ruling party, Bangladesh Awami League and the founder of Chinese Communist Party were tied in a bonding of mutual brotherhood, politics, and most importantly their dream to build their country as independent and sovereign. They farsighted the significance of development of political party that will contribute more to the country's development.

Therefore, it goes without saying that the seed of China-Bangladesh friendship had been planted by the veteran leaders of the two countries long before diplomatic ties were established. Therefore, Bangladesh conveyed the heartiest appreciation for the contributions of Chinese Communist Party leaders in bolstering Dhaka–Beijing as well as Chinese Communist Party–Bangladesh Awami League relations over the past decades.

Referring to China as a trusted partner in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, Prime Sheikh Hasina emphasized the need for exploring more avenues of cooperation to take the strategic partnership between Dhaka-Beijing to a new height. "We would like to explore more avenues to take the Bangladesh-China strategic partnership to new heights and also work together to address the regional and global issues for peace, security, stability and development," she said.

It goes without saying that China has made significant strides in the path of progress and development from space to nanotechnology, robotics to avionics, backed by high-quality education and resulting in the production of world-class goods and services. Thus, the Bangladeshi prime minister congratulated CPC's judicious policies and visionary leadership, which has transformed the country into a modern state to ensure prosperity for all.
