On Apr. 10th, 2018, the Forum of The Belt and Road Market Creation and Development was held in Fudan University. Many well-known Chinese and foreign experts and scholars elaborated their understanding about the creation of new market along the Belt and Road and discussed the experience of building connected infrastructure in related regions.

Zhou Hanmin, vice chairman of the central committee of China Democratic National Construction Association, said that since the Belt and Road Initiative was launched, the coordinated development of participating economies has been achieved within the framework of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. To further promote the Belt and Road Initiative, a better platform for cooperation is in need. In this vein, three main ideas should be emphasized: trade liberalization, investment facilitation and rule creation.

Wu Xinbo, dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, said that as the globalization enters a new stage, infrastructure construction should be capable of connecting relevant economies, creating jobs and bolstering economic growth in a larger scale.

In particular, the global economic recovery has been sluggish in recent years and the trend of "anti-globalization" is now witnessing its return. It is precisely under this circumstance that The Belt and Road Initiative can provide new clues to deal with the current challenge of "anti-globalization".
