Introduction
Fudan Institute of Belt and Road & Global Governance (BRGG) is a newly launched university-level interdisciplinary research institution that focuses on the research of Belt and Road (B&R) and global governance. As China enters the New Era, BRGG commits itself to promoting the collaborative construction of the Belt and Road, a proactive and constructive China’s role in global governance, and the building of a community of shared future for mankind.
By drawing the research strength from multiple disciplines within the university, focusing on real issue studies, connecting leading research institutions and relevant stakeholders at home and abroad, BRGG strives to establish itself as a professional high-end think tank and a talent training platform. BRGG aims to be a key supporting think tank under the national B&R Think Tank Cooperation Alliance, as well as to assist Shanghai’s effort to play a bridgehead role in China’s Belt and Road initiative.
Mission
Through research and consultation,education and training as well as international exchanges, IBRGG endeavors to:a) be a leading university-level think tank on Belt & Road and global governance; b) strengthen Shanghai’s leading role in Belt and Road initiative;c) make theoretical innovation and policy consultation for the Belt and Road initiative.
◆ Research and Consultation
BRGG carries out continuous research on the construction of the Belt and Road initiative and global governance. BRGG’s research projects will cover key issues with regards to Belt and Road and global governance, ranging from theoretical studies, strategic studies, regional and thematic studies, and studies on people to people exchanges. BRGG will produce reports, policy briefs and book series, to share with the public and policy-makers our strategic analysis, progress assessment, and policy proposals. Forums and workshops will be organized to engage the research and policy community.
◆ Education and Training
BRGG will develop training modules and programs to provide training opportunities for Chinese and foreign nationals in the field of Belt and Road and global governance. The institute also plans to set up the Belt and Road international degree programs at master and doctoral levels by working with relevant schools and departments at Fudan University.
◆ Cooperation and Partnership
BRGG undertakes joint research projects, training, important forums and academic activities at home and abroad for the promotion of cooperation among universities, business community and governments. It prioritizes the development of international joint projects and the establishment of international think tank network.
